Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha is drawing interest from multiple European clubs and could sign a pre-contract agreement abroad in January.

The Lowdown: Zaha linked with Palace exit

The 30-year-old has arguably become one of the Eagles' greatest players of all time as the years have passed, having scored 89 goals in 443 appearances.

Zaha has often stayed loyal to Palace through links to major clubs but numerous recent transfer reports have claimed that he could be on the move in the near future.

The Ivorian is out of contract at Selhurst Park next summer, at which point he will be able to depart for free.

The Latest: Summer move predicted

Speaking to Give Me Sport, transfer insider Dean Jones was asked if a summer exit as a free agent is the most likely outcome.

He revealed the talisman could indeed ignore both new contract offers from Palace and Premier League interest in order to move abroad:

"Yes, it seems it. He can sign a pre-contract with an overseas club from January 1, so that’ll be interesting because he’s had interest from abroad for a little while now.

"I expect the people around him to remain very open-minded here about what is possible for Zaha in the next few years of his career."

The Verdict: Hard to begrudge him

In an ideal world, Zaha would sign another extension with the Eagles that sees him at the club for the rest of his career, but that feels unlikely currently.

One more big move, while he is still in and around his peak years, is highly likely to appeal to the winger, who may feel he hasn't quite reached his potential after one failed spell at Manchester United.

Should Zaha decide to move on, it would be hard to begrudge him one more big challenge in his career, especially if it is an exciting jump to a major European club.
