Crystal Palace play a Burnley side on Monday who are without a win so far this season, but Roy Hodgson knows it will not be an easy three points at Turf Moor.
What Hodgson had to say before facing Burnley
Speaking before the Burnley match, Hodgson said: “It is only a few matches into the season and they have played one game less than us anyway, so I’m not paying too much attention to that.
“I think it is probably a bit easier for someone like Sean (Dyche), who has been at Burnley for a long time knowing exactly what to do. They have their game-plan firmly established.
“I am pretty certain a guy like Sean Dyche won’t be thinking this is a hopeless task and he will be waiting for the tide to turn.”
Palace need to be wary of Sean Dyche and Burnley
Despite the poor start that Burnley have had, they are definitely a side to be worried about. Palace will know this as they lost 1-0 to the side at home last season.
The comments from the gaffer are exactly what the players will need to hear so that they are not complacent following their 4-1 victory against Leeds before the international break.
A win could see the Eagles propel into the top six as things currently stand, and it is very possible as their opposition have only scored three goals this season.
Sean Dyche has done great things with Burnley, including managing to get them into the Europa League qualifiers, so he can definitely turn things around. Hodgson will just be hoping that he doesn’t do it on Monday.
