Ex-Everton forward Joshua King would be a "massive signing" for Crystal Palace, claims the club's former player Marcus Bent.

King is a free agent after leaving Goodison Park last month and has been touted with a move to Selhurst Park in the past.

The Sunday Mirror (via The Boot Room) reported last year that Palace were interested in signing King, though nothing happened in the end, with the 29-year-old remaining at Bournemouth before eventually joining Everton.

Another opportunity has presented itself, however, following his Everton exit. And Bent believes if Palace end up getting a deal done this time round, it could be massive.

"A player that has talent," the ex-Palace forward said in an exclusive interview with TT. "Is Palace the right move for him from Everton? I think it would be a massive signing for Crystal Palace.

"Would it be the move he wants? I'm not sure, but it'd literally get him playing and get his confidence up. He'd be playing with a team that's fired up, new manager [Patrick] Vieira coming in, still in the Premier League."

King made very little impact at Everton, failing to score a single goal. However, his record with Bournemouth in the Premier League is far from terrible.

The Norway international managed to score 48 goals in 161 appearances so, on a free transfer, perhaps he is a player Vieira should be looking at.
