Crystal Palace: Fans react to reports the club are interested in defender Fabio Baptista

Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to the news that the club are monitoring a young defender currently playing in Portugal’s second division.
According to Calciomercato, and tweeted out by @cpfc_xtra, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Atalanta are monitoring Benfica’s 19-year-old right-back Fabio Baptista. Both January and June are options for a move.
The young star is yet to feature for the senior side, but has made 35 appearances with the second team, who play in the division below. He has also made appearances in the UEFA Youth League with the U19 side (Transfermarkt).
This rumour has seen a lot of mixed reaction. The club signed Nathaniel Clyne until January, and when Nathan Ferguson is fully fit, the Eagles will already have three players in the right-back position.
Multiple sides are keen on the player, and this highlights that he is already showing some good quality at such a young age, but it would perhaps be much better to keep Clyne until the end of the season and spend money elsewhere in the squad.
Here is what Palace fans have said following the transfer update:

just sign him

As of right now we do have enough depth at right back though the question is when will Nathan Ferguson be healthy again and where will he play? He can play right back but also as a center back should Roy view him that way. https://t.co/7Nubn5OpTI

As the rb we just bought in recovers from an injury. Lazy journalism https://t.co/7BHLweVJWS

Confused. We have 3 RB’s now unless they’d let ward or clyne go or see Ferguson as a CB https://t.co/D081VlAmST

Unless we plan on letting Ward or Clyne go at the end of their contracts I doubt it (they better not let Wardy go before his testimonial)
Even then seems very stiff competition, especially from Atalanta https://t.co/naRwCJ8TQd
