# Everton: Fans gush over Dan Ashworth news

**Lots of Everton fans have been left gushing over some off-field news that has emerged.**

As per [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/duncan-ferguson-wants-everton-manager-job-permanent-basis), the Goodison Park faithful are now ‘keen’ on Brighton and Hove Albion technical director Dan Ashworth, who has previously been [linked](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59729700) with a job at Newcastle United.

He already has plenty of pedigree, having been a [key figure](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59729700) as his work at the Football Association (FA) helped lead to England winning the U20 and U17 World Cups, in addition to the U19 European Championships, back in 2017.

In [2019](https://www.transfermarkt.com/dan-ashworth/profil/trainer/93634), Ashworth became the technical director with the Seagulls, and thus [oversaw](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48340989#:~:text=Brighton%20have%20appointed%20Graham%20Potter%20as%20their%20new,2018%20and%20guided%20them%20to%20a%2010th-place%20finish.) the appointment of Graham Potter, who has become a great success in guiding them to the [top half](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) of the Premier League table, and has since been [touted](https://talksport.com/football/1022807/graham-potter-ready-manchester-united-ralf-rangnick-replacement/) for the Manchester United job.

Nonetheless, he seems to be an appointment that would be very popular among Merseyside club supporters.
