# De Gea out? Impressive goalie one of three stars constantly scouted by Man United this season

**Manchester United fans have had to deal with speculation surrounding David de Gea for the past few summers and reports from [A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=665692) have added fuel to the fire that he could be off this year, which has almost reduced one punter here in the Transfer Tavern to tears.**

Indeed, the Portuguese outlet reveal that the Old Trafford giants have had scouts in attendance at almost every Benfica match since January with goalkeeper Ederson a man on their agenda.

The news comes in the wake of [claims that Real Madrid will return for De Gea](https://okdiario.com/real-madrid/futbol/fichajes/2017/04/04/james-rodriguez-puede-entrar-operacion-gea-210211) – whom they famously almost signed in 2014 – this summer and follows speculation from the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/789558/Manchester-United-Tottenham-transfer-news-Hugo-Lloris-PSG-football-gossip) that Hugo Lloris is also being eyed.

As well as Ederson, Man United have also been watching Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof and right-back Nelson Semedo, who could address two problem spots in Jose Mourinho’s XI.

Portugal’s top tier has proven itself to be a happy hunting ground for Europe’s top clubs in recent years, with the likes of Radamel Falcao having emerged in the Primeira Liga.
