# Deal Close: Spurs to seal £18.2m deal, five-year contract offered

**The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted to welcome the likes of Vincent Wanyama and Vincent Janssen to the club this summer.**

While the North London locals wax poetic about the complexion of their squad next term, those in for an afternoon drink have been given further reason to celebrate from the [Daily Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/21/eric-dier-to-be-rewarded-with-new-five-year-tottenham-contract-a/).

They claim that the club are set to reward Eric Dier with a brand spanking new five-year deal at the club.

Though he joined from Sporting Lisbon two years ago, the 22-year old saw a magnificent breakout campaign last term, being utilised as a defensive midfielder.

To that end, he has become a lynchpin for both club and country, emerging as one of few England stars to leave EURO 2016 with his reputation in tact.

As a result, Bayern Munich are [understood](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/21/eric-dier-to-be-rewarded-with-new-five-year-tottenham-contract-a/) to have been casting watchful eyes over his situation at White Hart Lane.

Still, despite only signing a five-year deal last summer, the club will bump his wages up to around £70k-per-week, which would see the Three Lions star earn a cool [£18.2m](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/21/eric-dier-to-be-rewarded-with-new-five-year-tottenham-contract-a/).
