![pochettino9](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/pochettino9-500x323.jpg?admin)Tottenham fans loitering around the pool table will be encouraged by reports that they have won the race to sign Ebbsfleet United’s highly rated Shilow Tracey following an impressive trial[, according to the Daily Mail.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3383749/Tottenham-set-win-race-Ebbsfleet-United-wonderkid-Shilow-Tracey-following-impressive-trial.html)

The 17-year old had recently been linked with a switch to several other London based clubs, including the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace, as well as Championship sides Ipswich and Charlton.

[But the Daily Mail have claimed that Spurs are ready to make the promising midfielder their first signing of the January transfer window.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3383749/Tottenham-set-win-race-Ebbsfleet-United-wonderkid-Shilow-Tracey-following-impressive-trial.html) The report also suggests that the deal could be completed by the end of the week, with talks currently at an advanced stage.

Tracey travelled on Spurs’ pre-season tour of America and featured for the club’s academy team in an 8-0 win against Jacksonville Armada and a 3-1 win over Baltimore Celtic, scoring in both fixtures. Earlier this campaign, the [Ebbsfleet manager Daryl McMahon said:](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3383749/Tottenham-set-win-race-Ebbsfleet-United-wonderkid-Shilow-Tracey-following-impressive-trial.html)

> “Shilow has made a very impressive start to the season, as have a number of our other young contracted players. A number of clubs have spoken to us about him in recent days and we have given permission for him to trial with Spurs.”
>
> “The fact that a Premier League club is interested in one of our players says a lot about the quality of the coaching and management the boys are receiving and it reflects well on our academy set-up.”

Our Landlord thinks that Tracey could be a big hit amongst Spurs supporters in the future, with the midfielder definitely showing a lot of potential.
