# Derby: Rams hoping to make Liam Rosenior their permanent manager

**[Derby County](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/derby-county-news/) are hoping to make interim manager Liam Rosenior their permanent boss in the near future, according to journalist Alan Nixon.**

### The Lowdown: Rosenior in temporary charge

The Rams are tackling life in [League One](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/league-one-news/) after last season’s relegation from the Championship, with Wayne Rooney making the decision to move on as manager earlier this year.

Rosenior has been in a role as interim boss since June and he has done a solid yet unspectacular job so far, with Derby sitting ninth in the table with seven matches played and the temporary boss [winning six and drawing two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/liam-rosenior/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/62134/verein_id/22/datum_zu/2022-06-26/datum_ab/2022-09-11) of his first 10 games in charge.

A new update has emerged over the last 24 hours which suggests that the 38-year-old’s role at Pride Park is about to be upgraded.

### The Latest: Rosenior wanted permanently

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1568853510887772161?s=20&t=fa8iCrT8zVzTsNytRIk4dQ) on Sunday morning to share a corresponding link from his [Patreon](https://www.patreon.com/posts/derby-need-to-be-71745778?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=postshare_creator) profile, Nixon claimed that Derby are now aiming to make Rosenior their permanent manager.

He tweeted a link to Patreon with the caption: “Derby push to keep Rosenior.”

### The Verdict: Right decision by Derby

This would be a correct decision by Derby, with Rosenior doing well enough to suggest that he is the right man to take the team forward at what has been a [difficult time for the club](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwig09nXyIz6AhUOYsAKHTBaCL8QFnoECCUQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.football365.com%2Fnews%2Fopinion-derby-county-should-now-be-saved-but-they-remain-a-cautionary-tale-kirchner-rooney-morris&usg=AOvVaw1JKxMEBYKGl3acYzj0Y1lp) off the pitch.

Making him permanent manager should bring more stability to the club and arguably allow the players to feel more settled, with the Englishman a young manager who looks set to embark on [his first role](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/liam-rosenior/profil/trainer/62134) in full charge of a club at senior level.

The most important thing for now is focusing on getting back into the Championship – if Rosenior manages that this season, he will surely become an instant hero to Derby supporters.
