# Discussions held over emotional Man United deal this summer

**After being bored to tears last night, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern could do with some excitement.**

With the Manchester derby failing to live up to expectations, the Red Devils around the corner of the bar are eager to have something new to talk about, so a story from [Bleacher Report](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2705568-breaking-down-the-transfers-that-will-happen-this-summer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK) has at least sparked some excitement.

They’ve [revealed](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2705568-breaking-down-the-transfers-that-will-happen-this-summer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK) Wayne Rooney IS likely to leave Old Trafford for boyhood heroes Everton this summer. The England captain has largely become a peripheral figure of late, [strongly linked](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2674096/wayne-rooney-being-lined-up-by-chinese-super-league-in-stunning-1m-a-week-deal-after-breaking-manchester-united-scoring-record/) with a move to the Chinese Super League earlier this year.

Though his departure will barely see many tears shed, it’ll be a landmark deal for United, selling their record goalscorer, a fact not lost on our punters.

According to this [story](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2705568-breaking-down-the-transfers-that-will-happen-this-summer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK), Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh over at Goodison Park are keen on the idea of bringing him back to Merseyside, with discussions about the size of the investment [thought](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2705568-breaking-down-the-transfers-that-will-happen-this-summer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK) to have been held.

A solution could [reportedly](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2705568-breaking-down-the-transfers-that-will-happen-this-summer?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-UK) be soon found, with the United fans in the Tavern now looking to enjoy Rooney’s final few games.

**Thoughts?**
