**The section of the gutter press that wanted Harry Redknapp installed as England coach have been spitting feathers. Roy Hodgson has so far had an excellent tournament.** He has England playing for each other like a real team and has used the players he has excellently.

Tonight’s game is likely to feature a pretty much unchanged squad with all eyes being on the presumed pairing of Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. Its a fact that Rooney wasn’t exactly on fire in his previous appearance, but it’s laughable to use it as a stick to beat him as he scored. Tonight should hopefully see Wazza turn it on just a little bit more and Welbeck has looked comfortable in his England shirt to put it mildly.

England’s quarter-final record is however rotten. – they have lost seven of 10 matches in both the European Championship finals and the World Cup. But, I haven’t seen England play such considered football in my lifetime and so I fancy them to do the business.
