Leeds United remain very much in contention for a top six finish this season, with Thomas Christiansen’s men knocking on the door of the playoff places.
The Whites have endured good and bad runs of form this season, which has restricted their progression up the league table, and Danish boss Christiansen will look to utilise the January transfer window to ensure his side enjoy a solid run from now until the end of the season. Fans here at The Transfer Tavern have been treated so far, with Yosuke Ideguchi and Laurens de Bock having already arrived at the club, but more are expected before the window slams shut at the end of the month. Our landlord caught up with fans to discuss potential targets, with many expecting a couple more diamonds in the rough to be sourced from across the world game.
With that in mind, our landlord couldn’t help but suggest taking a look at Dutch forward Sam Hendriks, who is setting the Eerste Divisie alight with Go Ahead Eagles. The 22-year-old has bagged thirteen goals already this season to keep his side marginally above the relegation places, and could look to force through a move this summer to escape the club’s dire situation. Leeds are no strangers to the Dutch leagues, having picked up Jay-Roy Grot from NEC in the summer, and could return to the divisions again this month.
Grot has so far failed at Elland Road, but Hendriks is an entirely different prospect. A pacy forward with a wonderful eye for goal, Hendriks is the polar opposite to Grot, who himself is more of a target man given his height and power. Hendriks will play on the shoulder, looking to get in behind, and with the likes of Alioski and Saiz assisting him, the player could score a lot of goals at this level of football.
