# Eric Dier could be handed new Tottenham contract soon

**One of Tottenham Hotspurs’ key midfielders could be handed a new contract in the coming months.**

[According to a report by football.london, they are claiming that Eric Dier could be handed fresh terms to the current deal he already has.](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/tottenham-contract-news-vertonghen-dembele-14448762)

The midfielder, who represented England in the World Cup this summer, signed a five-year deal almost two years ago and it is believed Spurs could look to tie him down once again.

The 24-year-old has produced a number of impressive performances for club and country over the last few seasons, which has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United in the past.

Dier has become a regular feature for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and will certainly continue to be a key man in the future, especially if Mousa Dembele decides to call time on his career at the Premier League outfit.

## The Verdict:

Tottenham have made it a habit to tie down all of their players to long-term deals and it would not be a surprise to see Dier offered a new one in the near future.

The £36million-rated England international, as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-dier/profil/spieler/175722), has proved to be crucial to the way that Spurs play and has become a key component of Pochettino’s squad.

With interest thought to be in the midfielder, the club will be keen to keep hold of him for a lot longer and should look to extend his current deal even further.
