# European giant join Man City and Liverpool in hunt of £40m star

![Sane](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Sane-500x328.jpg)Manchester City and Liverpool fans are crying onto the shoulders of one another in the Transfer Tavern and it’s not just because a problem in our kitchen has meant the chef has to cut the onions at the bar.

[*The Daily Express*](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/633513/Barcelona-40m-Leroy-Sane-Liverpool-Manchester-City-Premier-League-transfer-news) states that Barcelona are ready to enter the market for Schalke sensation Leroy Sane, rivalling interest from Manchester City and Liverpool.

Recently-capped German international Sane is developing into one of the hottest prospects on the continent, with the 20-year-old earning rave reviews for his displays with the Bundesliga side so far this term.

[Sane has recently had a £40m price-tag slapped upon his head by Schalke](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/633513/Barcelona-40m-Leroy-Sane-Liverpool-Manchester-City-Premier-League-transfer-news) but interest continues to rise, with the youngster’s versatility being extremely appealing as he can play across the front-line and in the wide areas of an attack.

He burst onto the scene last season when he set-up the winner and scored one as Schalke defeated Real Madrid in the Champions League, a 4-3 victory that turned heads and led to many accumulators in the Transfer Tavern being ruined that night.

Our landlord is a big fan of Sane but believes he should stay at Schalke for a while longer, stating that regular first-team football is crucially important to the youngster at this stage of his career.
