Signing Onana on a lucrative deal ahead of top-flight rivals such as West Ham and [Newcastle](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-amadou-onana-transfer-gossip-news/) would be a significant statement of intent from the Blues, illustrating the pulling power Goodison Park still holds despite a disappointing 2021/22 campaign.
