# Everton: Club keeping tabs on ‘incredible’ £18m-rated playmaker ahead of potential January move

**According to recent reports, Everton are keeping tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Isco ahead of a potential January move.**

The report by Mundo Deportivo (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-named-as-interested-party-for-signing-player-has-two-priority-conditions-for-transfer/)) claims that Everton are one of the clubs interested in taking the [£18 million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/isco/marktwertverlauf/spieler/85288) midfielder from Real Madrid, with the 28-year-old said to be keen on a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in search of more regular game time.

So far this season, the Spain international has [started just three times in La Liga](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/isco/leistungsdaten/spieler/85288) under Zinedine Zidane, playing a total of just 344 minutes over his 10 appearances in the Spanish top flight.

And, Spanish publication AS (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-named-as-interested-party-for-signing-player-has-two-priority-conditions-for-transfer/)) back up Mundo Deportivo’s claim that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are keen on the midfielder, stating that Everton and Sevilla are both interested in making a move for the former Malaga man, whom Andres Iniesta has previously described as an ‘[incredible](https://www.fotmob.com/news/xhu2fteekyni1df14ncq5ulzf-iniesta-and-suarez-heap-praise-on-isco-as-barcelona-transfer-talk-intensifies)‘ talent.

### **Transfer Tavern Take**

Although his form had slightly tailed off over recent weeks before his injury, it would be difficult to make the argument that James Rodriguez, who Everton [signed from Real Madrid on a free transfer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-rodriguez/transfers/spieler/88103) last summer, has not been a good addition to Ancelotti’s side.

As such, this could potentially lead to Isco being convinced that Everton is indeed a team he could join to pick up more minutes, as well as somewhere where he could improve his reputation in the game once again.
