# Everton: Fail hail Duncan Ferguson after Chelsea victory

**Everton fans heaped praise on the newly-appointed manager Duncan Ferguson after guiding his team to a [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50611310) win against Chelsea on Saturday.**

The 47-year-old took the reins at Goodison Park following the [dismissa](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1518522/club-statement)l of Marco Silva. The Toffees were heavily beaten [5-2](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/376315-liverpool-everton-merseyside-derby-talking-points) against hated neighbours Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.

For Ferguson, it was a [dream](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7764193/Many-managers-want-job-Duncan-Ferguson-admits-dream-manage-Toffees.html) come true and spoke about his ambition to manage the club before the crunch clash against the London based outfit.

His dreams became a reality as his team got off to the best possible start, with goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison getting his first win as the Everton boss.

He said the following words after the final whistle:
