# Everton: Fans blast ‘pathetic’ Morgan Schneiderlin following Southampton display

**After securing their first away win of the season, slightly lifting the pressure off Marco Silva’s shoulders, supporters were quick to highlight one player’s performance.**

Morgan Schneiderlin, who has long been an [unlikeable character in the eyes of some Evertonians](https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/everton/everton-fans-slam-morgan-schneiderlins-performance-in-the-0-0-draw-vs-crystal-palace), started alongside Tom Davies in the heart of the Toffees midfield against his former club during their [2-1 win over Southampton at St. Mary’s.](https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNQGlsFTE4r6MMuEAbpNL0X4G_t1qA%3A1573479159233&source=hp&ei=92LJXYmbDIHeauyijNAE&q=everton&oq=everton&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39l2j0i131j0i131i67j0i131j0i67l3j0i131l2.1062.2260..2711...0.0..0.99.621.7......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i131i20i263.A_TLUW4YkFE&ved=0ahUKEwjJ8uHSouLlAhUBrxoKHWwRA0oQ4dUDCAg&uact=5#sie=m;/g/11h3_z1nxz;2;/m/02_tc;ln;fp;1;;)

His defensive midfield partner grabbed the opener with a bullet header inside the first five minutes, before ex-Liverpool striker Danny Ings equalised for the home side shortly after half time.

From then on, the result was up in the air, with Southampton pushing for a winner only to be caught on the counter-attack – with Djibril Sidibe setting up Richarlison for a dramatic winning goal 15 minutes from full time.

Despite a much-needed victory, some supporters were quick to jump on Schneiderlin’s sub-par performance[after he appeared to be at fault](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Wvnee7adRE) for the Saints’ equaliser, hinting that the Frenchman is a liability.

Here’s what they had to say regarding the former Man United midfielder.

> That’s outrageously bad from Schneiderlin, even by his standards. I’d rather be giving youth a chance than have him anywhere near the squad.
