# Everton: Fans buzz over transfer links with Sergio Romero

**Many Everton fans have been buzzing over transfer links with Sergio Romero as [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4162144/sheffield-united-considering-a-loan-offer-for-henderson-despite-ramsdale-signing-sources) reported that the Merseyside club are interested in signing the Manchester United goalkeeper in the summer window.**

However, according to the outlet, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and Leeds United for his signature.

With a rather impressive 12 clean sheets in 17 games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in all competitions in the 2019/20 season, coupled with the concession of only five goals (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sergio-romero/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/30690/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), Romero may well be a good addition at Goodison Park.

Current Toffees number one Jordan Pickford has been [heavily criticised](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-transfer-rumours/everton-fans-hail-possible-jordan-pickford-exit-chelsea-transfer-reports/) for making multiple errors and as such has been linked with a possible move away to Stamford Bridge, which could pave the way for the Argentine international should he wish to sign.

Romero also has a whole host of trophies to his name, as per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sergio-romero/erfolge/spieler/30690), and so could provide a winning mentality at Goodison Park.

These Everton supporters were buzzing upon reading the link to the 33-year old on Twitter, with one fan labelling him as ‘class’:

> Yes. In a heartbeat yes!

> He’s a fantastic keeper. He has stood in brilliantly for De Gea even been better than him in recent years imo. I’d take him all day long.
