# Everton: Fans urge club to sign Lille ace Gabriel Magalhaes as they make bid alongside Manchester United and Napoli

**Lots of Everton fans have been urging the Merseyside club to sign Gabriel Magalhaes as [La Voix du Nord](https://www.lavoixdunord.fr/846024/article/2020-07-31/football-mercato-le-losc-prepare-une-offre-30-millions-pour-jonathan-david) have reported that they, alongside Manchester United and Napoli have made bids worth €30m for the Lille defender, which is the equivalent of around £27.1m.**

As per the outlet, this sum includes possible bonuses, as the French outfit have already [signed his potential replacement](https://twitter.com/losclive/status/1289129927456051200?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1289129927456051200%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.lavoixdunord.fr%2F846079%2Farticle%2F2020-07-31%2Ffootball-sven-botman-au-losc-c-est-fait) in Ajax central defender Sven Botman.

Indeed, Gabriel would perhaps be an upgrade on who Carlo Ancelotti already has in his squad at centre-back. The 22-year-old averaged more tackles and passes in the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season than Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the Premier League last campaign, according to [Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison).

The Brazilian has reportedly been a transfer target for the Toffees for a while now as some members of the Goodison Park faithful have [previously expressed their interest in signing him](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-transfer-rumours/everton-fans-hail-transfer-update-gabriel-magalhaes/).

These Everton supporters on Twitter urged the Blues to sign Gabriel, as they want to fend off the competition for his signature with the summer transfer window officially open:

> Done part of his medical at Everton, looked at facilities. If he doesn’t come to us that’s gonna annoy me for ages

> Looks the part played most of the games for Lille plus Champions League games, quick, left footed and good on the ball and only 22, I hope that we will finally get him plus I guess he could cover Digne at LB.

> Hadn’t we already agreed at $20mm pre-pandemic, then pulled out of that deal because we thought that the number should be lower?…. have never seen him play, but looks like he could def help us. Pls bring him in quickly!
