# Everton: Fans hail Djibril Sidibe following exclusive club interview

**After Seamus Coleman was sent off during Everton’s 1-0 away defeat to Burnley back in October, loan signing Djibril Sidibe has barged his way into the starting eleven with a string of impressive displays.**

The AS Monaco defender has now [started four games for the Toffees](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/10454/History/Djibril-Sidib%C3%A9) since replacing Coleman as the preferred option – grabbing [an assist in his latest outing during a crucial win](https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNRRQeYQd3FwlNx9GYiwUWR2j9zqUg%3A1574167571955&ei=E-TTXZL0OcnrgAa4uKHwBw&q=everton&oq=everton&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39l2j0i67l2j0j0i131j0i67l3j0i131.1101376.1102517..1102783...1.1..0.117.545.6j1......0....1..gws-wiz.....10..0i71j35i362i39j0i131i67.OXj8h3HOmW0&ved=0ahUKEwjSycWXp_blAhXJNcAKHThcCH4Q4dUDCAs&uact=5#sie=m;/g/11h3_z1nxz;2;/m/02_tc;dt;fp;1;;) at Southampton – and his performances have now endeared him to the Goodison Park faithful.

Sidibe’s energy from the right-back position has also prompted discussion over potentially signing the Frenchman on a permanent deal next summer – with his price tag set at £12.8m, according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7323083/Transfer-news-Everton-32million-bid-Watfords-Abdoulaye-Doucoure-rejected.html).

Going on to further build a connection with the fanbase, Sidibe spoke [exclusively to the club’s official website](https://twitter.com/everton/status/1196476409931354112?s=21), explaining how much he is enjoying his time on Merseyside.

“All we want to do is play games and show what we’re capable of,” explained the 27-year-old.

“I was excited when I got my chance and hopefully there will be more of them in future.

“The one big change from Monaco is the weather! But I am surrounded by good people and enjoying things.”

As a result, supporters have flocked to praise the full-back on Twitter.
