# Everton: Fans hail Watford ace Ben Foster as he responds to Toffees and Chelsea links

**Loads of Everton fans have been hailing Ben Foster as the Watford ace responded to being linked with a transfer move to the Merseyside club as well as Chelsea in the summer window.**

Speaking to [Sky Sports News](https://twitter.com/footballdaily/status/1303276313109827586), Foster said:

*“Even my kids chuckled, saying dad have you see that, it must be a slow news day, there’s no truth in that!”*

Indeed, [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12412508/ben-foster-chelsea-everton-transfer-watford/) reported last month that the 37-year old had emerged as a transfer target for both Carlo Ancelotti’s team and Frank Lampard’s side, and given his age and the pedigree of the two clubs, perhaps this may be seen as a shock even for him.

On the other hand, Foster won the Premier League [twice](https://transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-foster/erfolge/spieler/13572) during his spell with Manchester United, has [364](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-foster/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/13572/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB1&pos=&trainer_id=) games in the top flight under his belt playing also for Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion, and has also won [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ben-foster/nationalmannschaft/spieler/13572) senior caps for the English national team.

These members of the Goodison Park faithful hailed the goalkeeper on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/EvertonNewsFeed/status/1303343765202100226), as they perhaps feel that he could come into the EFC squad to challenge fellow countryman Jordan Pickford in between the sticks:

> He’s a good keeper would give serious competition if not take Pickfords place

> Suggested this months ago. Available on a free as well, as far as I am aware. Better attitude than Pickford.
