# Everton: Fans in disbelief over Marco Silva’s choice of substitution against Liverpool

**Everton’s miserable run under Marco Silva continued on Wednesday night after they were hammered in the Merseyside derby as Liverpool ran out 5-2 winners at Anfield.**

It was Silva’s final roll of the dice, with some Everton fans even thinking it may be the last substitution of his time as manager at Goodison Park. The score had remained at 4-2 until well into the second half as the Toffees pushed for a way back into the game – but the decision from Silva to bring on [Morgan Schneiderlin for Tom Davies](https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1202343482007965697) did not exactly go down too well amongst the Everton fanbase.

The result saw the Toffees sink into the [bottom three](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table), with supporters in pure disbelief that Silva opted against bringing on the likes of [Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-everton/teams/408129) with time running out.

His decision hardly paid off as Georginio Wijnaldum hammered the final nail in the coffin late on to leave Everton empty-handed.
