# Everton: Fans love that the Roma manager is interested in Bernard

**Many Everton fans have been loving the fact that the AS Roma manager is reportedly interested in signing Bernard in the January transfer window.**

As per [Il Tempo](https://www.iltempo.it/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-bernard-roma-fonseca-january-transfer/)), Paulo Fonseca would like either the Brazil international or Stephan El Shaaraway to bolster his attacking options, but no asking price has been mentioned.

Nonetheless, it could be a deal that would benefit all parties involved, as Bernard has barely featured so far in the 2020/21 term under Carlo Ancelotti.

Indeed, the 28 year-old has played in just five games in all competitions, having only completed the full 90 minutes three times in total ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/175169/plus/0?saison=2020&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

Given that the Merseyside club signed him on a [free](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernard/transfers/spieler/175169) transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk back in August of 2018 as well, a deal may provide an opportunity for the Toffees to gain some profit on the winger.
