# Everton: Fans love transfer link to Brentford star Ivan Toney

**Many Everton fans have been lauding a transfer link to Ivan Toney as [Calcio Mercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/everton-un-nuovo-attaccante-per-ancelotti-74927) have reported that the young striker is on the notebook of the Goodison Park faithful.**

The Merseyside club may be looking for a back-up striker to the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in case either player gets suspended, injured or just need a break, and Toney may well fit the bill.

The Englishman has scored no fewer than 13 goals and has also made a handy two assists in 15 games in the EFL Championship so far in the 2020/21 term ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ivan-toney/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/251664/plus/0?saison=2020&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=GB2&pos=&trainer_id=)), as he will no doubt be pushing for a move up to the Premier League in the near future.

Carlo Ancelotti may look to snap him up in the January transfer window if he is available for a set price, as he could provide another goal threat for the Toffees in the top flight.

### Everton fan reaction to Toney link

These EFC supporters lauded the link to Toney on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/EvertonNewsFeed/status/1334471426947092481), with one Blue even claiming that the 24 year-old is a ‘raw talent’:

> Get him in surely raw talent scores goals just look at Watkins better than tosun

> Brilliant player, will cost us upwards of 30m though.\
> Can see other teams being interested also though

> The sort of player we should be scouting imo. Who better than Carlo to make him world class

> About time we started gambling on hungry young lower league players again tbh. Look at Watkins with Villa and Bowen at West Ham; players desperate to show they’re good enough at the top level rather than the likes of Gylfi and Tosun who are happy just to make up the numbers
