# Everton: Fans loved what Gary Neville had to say about the club

**Everton fans have been [reacting](https://twitter.com/everton/status/1192079185759608836?s=12) on social media after Gary Neville had his say on the football club as a whole.**

The former Manchester United defender had his say on the People’s Club as part of a campaign by [eToro](https://twitter.com/everton/status/1192079185759608836?s=12) – an official partner of the Toffees – and made some positive comments about the 141-year-old football club.

Neville, who is now a Sky Sports pundit after retiring from his playing career, played [597](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gary-neville/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3403) times for the Red Devils and won [12](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gary-neville/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3403) Premier League titles and [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gary-neville/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3403) European Cups during a career which spanned over [19](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gary-neville/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/3403) years.

The 44-year-old spoke about the feeling that he gets when he’s at Goodison Park, saying there is an impression that “every single fan lives within 10 yards of the ground”.

Fans resoundingly [agreed](https://twitter.com/everton/status/1192079185759608836?s=12) with what Neville said and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he never liked him as a player but has a “small bit of respect” for him as a pundit.

Here you will find some of the best responses from Everton fans:

> “You go to Goodison Park. You get the feeling that every single fan lives within 10 yards of the ground”. That’s an absolute quality quote that.

> Never liked him as a player, but have a small bit of respect for him as a pundit. And generally as a rule, I hate all pundits……

> I think it’s also good to see what people from other clubs felt coming to Goodison to remind us fans what it should be like. I’m tired of listening to legends say the same things over and over
