# Everton: Fans plea to avoid targeting Alfredo Morelos due to various drawbacks

**Alfredo Morelos has bagged an unbelievable [70 goals in 117 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962) for Rangers since moving to Glasgow from HJK Helsinki and has been [linked](https://www.footballinsider247.com/villa-plot-transfer-missions-for-rangers-player-as-20m-set-aside-for-jan-swoop-ibrox-exclusive/) with a move to the Premier League but a handful of Everton followers don’t see the merit.**

The Colombian has been on fire for the SPFL joint front-runners, who are currently locked on points with bitter rivals Celtic in first and second, scoring [nine goals in 12 league games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962) so far this campaign and pundits such as [Darren Bent](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-bent-makes-20m-claim-about-forward-who-he-is-surprised-everton-not-trying-to-sign/) and [Alan Stubbs](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-transfer-news-morelos-gomes-17240999) have called for the Merseysiders to sign him.

Aston Villa have [reportedly](https://www.footballinsider247.com/villa-plot-transfer-missions-for-rangers-player-as-20m-set-aside-for-jan-swoop-ibrox-exclusive/) taken note of his fine form, but one dark side to Morelos’ game is unquestionably his marred disciplinary record since joining the Gers – picking up [three straight red cards and eight bookings last season alone.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alfredo-morelos/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/338962)

Luckily for Steven Gerrard’s side, Morelos appears to have nipped that in the bud – picking up just one yellow card so far this season, but Everton fans still don’t trust the forward with a move to Goodison Park for a variety of different reasons.

Here’s what they had to say regarding his rumoured transfer to Merseyside on Twitter.

> Avoid he’s a liability

> He lacks height when perhaps Everton need a commanding presence up front.

> Avoid. Apart from Jelavic who soon went off the boil, how many Scottish football success stories can we boast in modern times? Not many.

> big avoid, seems to get sent off about 5 times a season, championship striker at best, could see him in a derby co shirt

> He’d spend half the season suspended.

> Leave him in Scotland. 2 teams no competition. No more deadwood. Example. Tierney to Arsenal. Out of his depth. Sell him to PSV.
