# Everton: Fans praise Anthony Gordon after comments following Premier League debut

**Speaking to Everton’s[official club website](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1577805/gordon-sets-target-after-best-day-of-his-life) after making his Premier League debut during the Toffees’ [1-1 draw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0wheN87rws) at West Ham, youngster Anthony Gordon has been at the centre of huge praise from supporters after he dubbed the occasion[‘the best day of my life so far’.](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/1577805/gordon-sets-target-after-best-day-of-his-life)**

Gordon, who has racked up a prolific tally for Everton’s U23s side this season, scoring six goals and assisting two others from midfield [as per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-gordon/leistungsdaten/spieler/503733), had his first taste of senior Premier League action during their trip to the London Stadium – coming on in the second half in place of Bernard.

The Englishman went on to have a solid outing, completing one dribble and amassing an 80% pass success rate, [as per WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/349669/Show/Anthony-Gordon). Gordon even looked an impressive enough for some supporters to claim he is an alternative to Theo Walcott – with his compatriot averaging a meagre [67% pass accuracy](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/13796/Show/Theo-Walcott) and just [1.5](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/13796/Show/Theo-Walcott) shots per game over 10 starts by comparison – perhaps indicating that Gordon is one to watch out for in future as a potential stand-in.

Following the youngster’s comments over a huge milestone, supporters have heralded the reaction on Twitter – find some of their best comments down below.
