# Everton: Fans react as Lucas Digne statistic emerges

**Everton left-back Lucas Digne is keeping some elite company in his creative output this season.**

According to [FIVEYARDS](https://twitter.com/FIVE__YARDS/status/1373986817356279815), the Frenchman is only one of three players to have made 30 key passes and created eight big chances this season.

The others are PSG’s Neymar, a world-record [£200m signing](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40762417), and Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann, who moved to the Nou Camp for [£107m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48967047). All three, of course, have represented Barcelona.

Digne has set up six goals in the Premier League this season, more than the likes of Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joao Cancelo and Ben Chilwell (via [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goal_assist)). [The only defender who has registered more](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goal_assist) is West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell (seven).

The figures are made all the more impressive by the fact that Digne missed a significant portion of the season. He was out from late November until January 11 with an ankle injury (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-digne/verletzungen/spieler/126664)).

At the end of February, the 27-year-old signed a new contract, [committing to Everton until June 2025](https://www.evertonfc.com/news/2042950/digne-signs-new-everton-contract#:~:text=Lucas%20Digne%20has%20signed%20a,extended%20deal%20an%20easy%20decision.). Judging by the “insane” figures Digne is posting – in the words of one Toffees fan on Twitter – tying him down for another four years looks an increasingly shrewd decision.

These supporters certainly appreciate what he brings to the team in a creative sense:
