# Everton: Fans react positively to James Rodriguez links

**Everton fans have been reacting to rumours linking them to a possible move for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”269978″\]

Spanish outlet [El Desmarque](https://eldesmarque.com/madrid/real-madrid/noticias/180578-bombazo-james-rodriguez-y-acaba-de-pasar-esta-oferta-lo-cambia-todo-en-el-real-madrid-ed) has reported that the Toffees are in pole position to land the Colombian, with fans responding positively to the news.

A move for Rodriguez would see him link up once again with Carlo Ancelotti, who was his boss at the [Santiago Bernabeu](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlo-ancelotti/eingesetzteSpieler/trainer/523/plus/0?saison_id=2014&verein_id=418&liga=&wettbewerb_id=) and briefly at [Bayern Munich](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlo-ancelotti/eingesetzteSpieler/trainer/523/plus/0?saison_id=&verein_id=27&liga=&wettbewerb_id=).

It seems as though plenty of supporters would welcome the 28-year-old to Goodison Park, with fans not put off by his €42m (£35.8m) asking price, as reported by Italian journalist [Nicolo Schira](https://twitter.com/NicoSchira/status/1211782240763559936).

However, some supporters did also have concerns over his injury record, while one in particular would offer to rid themselves of Gylfi Sigurdsson to make Rodriguez an Evertonian.

So it looks like there is plenty of enthusiasm for such a move, which may gather pace as January nears.
