# Everton: Fans react to Denzel Dumfries update

**Everton’s path is clear to sign PSV Eindhoven right-back Denzel Dumfries, as rival suitors Inter Milan have turned their attention to Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin instead \[[Sport Mediaset via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-talking-intensively-close-deal-defender-belief-goodison-park-will-destination/)\].**

Enjoying a fantastic 2020/21 campaign, the Netherlands international registered 14 goal contributions in 41 appearances for the Eredivisie runners-up; four goals and nine assists \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/denzel-dumfries/leistungsdaten/spieler/321528/plus/0?saison=2020)\].

Fresh from an impressive showing at EURO 2020, he now seems set for a Premier League switch following recent developments.

Inter Milan were initially looking at Dumfries due to his potential to replace Achraf Hakimi, who has joined French giants Paris Saint Germain \[[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11820/12350280/achraf-hakimi-paris-saint-germain-beat-chelsea-to-sign-inter-milan-wing-back-on-five-year-deal)\].

However, they now look set to divert their attention towards Bellerin, who is keen to move to Serie A \[[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-talking-intensively-close-deal-defender-belief-goodison-park-will-destination/)\].

Paving the way for the Toffees, Goodison Park is now set to be Dumfries’ ‘destination’ after a period of club and player ‘talking intensively’.

In light of this news, loads of Everton diehards took to Twitter to rejoice at these latest developments.
