# Everton: Fans react to Diogo Jota’s recent complimentary comments on the Toffees

**Everton-focused Twitter account @EvertonNewsFeed have shared some comments that were recently made by Wolves attacker Diogo Jota in praise of the Toffees, [via a tweet](https://twitter.com/EvertonNewsFeed/status/1247478518755274754) which has attracted the attention of some Everton supporters.**

This tweet quotes Jota as stating that he “loved to watch Everton play”, with the [Portuguese international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/nationalmannschaft/spieler/340950) going on to describe the club as “relentless”. Jota’s complimentary words for The Toffees [originally surfaced in an interview that the Portuguese attacker recently conducted with The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/apr/06/wolves-diogo-jota-im-coaching-telford-united-on-football-manager?CMP=share_btn_tw).

After [joining Wolves from Atletico Madrid in July 2018 for a transfer fee of £12.6m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/transfers/spieler/340950), Jota, who is now valued at [£31.5m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/marktwertverlauf/spieler/340950), has scored [43 goals and provided 19 assists in 120 competitive games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/340950/plus/0?saison=&verein=543&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) during his time at Molineux.

In addition to that, the 23-year-old has scored [15 goals and provided six assists in 37 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/340950/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=543&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) for Wolves so far this season according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, six of which have come in the Europa League, making the Portuguese attacker the [joint-highest goalscorer in the Europa League](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/europa-league/torschuetzenliste/pokalwettbewerb/EL) this term.

Considering his impressive attacking performances for Wolves this season, it may be understandable why some Everton fans have been reacting positively to the 23-year-old’s recent comments in praise of the Toffees. One Everton supporter has even called for the club to “[swap him for Walcott](https://twitter.com/efctoffee77/status/1247485460395458561?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)” in response to @EvertonNewsFeed’s recent tweet sharing the Portuguese attacker’s comments.
