# Everton: Fans react to Jordan Pickford injury update

**Many Everton fans reacted to comments made by manager Carlo Ancelotti as his side prepare for their Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday night.**

Speaking during his [press conference](https://twitter.com/Everton/status/1357672483718062081), the Italian tactician confirmed that the 26-year-old will be absent when the Red Devils turn up at Goodison Park due to a [rib injury](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-jordan-pickford-injury-19751442) sustained during his side’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle.

Pickford has started all but three Premier League games during the 2020/21 campaign and the Toffees’ reserve shot-stopper Robin Olsen will be called into action once more.

Everton have [conceded four goals in their last three games](https://www.fotmob.com/teams/8668/fixtures/everton) and made up for the defeat to the Magpies with a [solid win](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3411562/matchfacts/leeds-united-vs-everton) against Leeds United. They will be hoping to continue in that fashion against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, and Olsen’s impressive display against Marcelo Bielsa’s side suggests they will have a good chance.

With this in mind, supporters were pleased with the update about Pickford, who has received plenty of flack from segments of the Goodison Park faithful in recent years.
