# Everton: Fans react to Sky Sports report of rejected bid from Barcelona for Richarlison

**Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to reports that the Toffees rejected an approach from Barcelona for Brazilian forward Richarlison.**

The Merseysiders had no hesitation in rejecting the bid and were unwilling to part ways with one of their most prized possessions as the newly-appointed manager Carlo Ancelotti looks to stamp his authority on his squad. [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11671/11921012/richarlison-everton-reject-barcelonas-85m-offer) revealed that the Brazil international has been a target from the Catalan giants’ sporting director Eric Abidal, who is keen to bring Richarlison to Spain.

If the reports are true, this would be the second attempt that Barcelona have made after summer enquiries, but Everton’s No. 7 put pen to paper on a new [five-year deal](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11671/11877410/richarlison-signs-new-everton-deal-until-2024) in December. Despite this, supporters were mixed on the news and made their feelings clear on social media.

One fan predicts a “transfer request \[is\] pending”, with Everton’s best players in the past, such as Romelu Lukaku and John Stones, having pushed for exits. Another suggested that the club should have sold him for that price.
