# Everton: Fans slam Alex Iwobi after Liverpool defeat

**Everton fans have slammed Alex Iwobi after his performance during his side’s 5-2 defeat against Liverpool on Wednesday.**

Iwobi, who signed for £40m from Arsenal in the summer, has not got off to the start he wanted since his move from north London.

Despite [saying](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/iwobi-everton-mentally-strong-prepared-for-liverpool/myxfpcf0ym8x1hir61dezc085) he was “mentally strong and prepared” for the Merseyside derby, his showing against his side’s hated neighbours suggested otherwise.

Supporters were furious with the Nigerian’s performance and made their feelings clear about him on social media.
