# Everton: Fans slam article which suggests hiring Carlo Ancelotti would be a bad move

**With Everton’s current managerial vacancy, talk is everywhere surrounding who will be the full-time successor to Marco Silva following his recent sacking.**

One man heavily linked with the post at Goodison Park is ex-Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich coach [Carlo Ancelotti](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11671/11883490/carlo-ancelotti-sacked-by-napoli-amid-everton-and-arsenal-links) after he was dismissed by [Napoli](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50737095) earlier this week – despite guiding the Serie A outfit to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Following reports of Everton making an approach for the Italian manager, the Liverpool Echo’s [Phil Kirkbride](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/carlo-ancelotti-what-everton-need-17408632) offered his thoughts on a potential coup for the Toffees as they seek their new man.

However, after suggesting that the [three-time Champions League winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlo-ancelotti/erfolge/trainer/523) was not the kind of manager Everton need at this moment in time, he was met with widespread derision from the Toffees fanbase, as many supporters were at a loss to explain how someone with a CV as glittering as Ancelotti’s was somehow not suitable for the role.
