# Everton: Fans slam link to Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot

**Lots of Everton fans have slammed a transfer link to Diogo Dalot as [A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/Nnh/Noticias/Ver/857405) have reported that the Merseyside club are interested in signing the Manchester United man in the summer window.**

According to the outlet, Carlo Ancelotti’s team are looking to sign a right-back who is also capable of playing as a third central defender, and they see Dalot as a good fit.

However, the 21-year old has [never played as a centre-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-dalot/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357147/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) in his senior club career so far for either Porto or the Red Devils, leading one member of the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter to label the link as [‘nonsense’](https://twitter.com/tompottsy/status/1296129696636317699).

Considering that the Toffees also have Jarrad Branthwaite, Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in their [senior squad](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-everton/startseite/verein/29), perhaps they are already well-covered in the centre-half position.
