# Everton: Fans slam Jordan Pickford after another calamitous mistake during Crystal Palace triumph

**Everton fans have been reacting in anger to Jordan Pickford’s latest gaffe during his side’s [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51337005) win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.**

During his post-match interview, the 25-year-old described his mistake as “disgusting”, but was pleased with himself after how he responded, making an excellent save to deny Christian Benteke from scoring, as per BT Sport (via [Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/08/jordan-pickford-speaks-disgusting-error-everton-beat-crystal-palace-12205210/)). His mistake cost his side their first-half lead after Bernard gave the Toffees the lead before the break. It was left up to Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to ensure that they secured all three points and moved up to seventh in the standings.

The Sunderland-born shot-stopper has been under intense scrutiny after a number of high-profile errors during his time at Goodison Park, with some questioning [whether he should retain his place](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47532235) in the England team. Supporters were disappointed with Pickford’s slip up and made their feelings clear towards him on social media. One fan described his moment of madness as “truly horrific”, while another thought it was “embarrassing”.
