# Everton: Fans slam Jordan Pickford as he says they can beat Liverpool

**Many Everton fans have been slamming Jordan Pickford as he claimed to [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11671/12001270/premier-league-restart-jordan-pickford-says-everton-are-good-enough-to-beat-liverpool) that the squad has the ability to beat Liverpool in the Merseyside derby and added that the team just want to win for themselves and their supporters.**

As per the outlet, the derby will be shown live on Sky Sports and Sky Pick on Sunday June 21 from 7 pm, where the red half of the city could be celebrating a first Premier League title in 30 years.

However, for this to happen, Jurgen Klopp’s men would first have to rely on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal beating his former accomplice Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on the Wednesday night prior, according to the top flight [table](https://www.premierleague.com/tables).

The Toffees have not beaten their fierce rivals at Goodison Park since [2010](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/when-was-the-last-time-everton-beat-liverpool/1mo93f9gkyi9h1mbakjrstadvr), so perhaps Pickford’s apparent confidence is right to be slammed by the Blues faithful. Added to that, the Reds have lost just one game in the entire 19/20 league season so far.

These EFC supporters in particular slammed his remarks on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/TheGwladysSt/status/1269208626926886914):
