# Everton: Fans slam Ronald Koeman as he is named Barcelona manager

**Many Everton fans have hit out at their former manager Ronald Koeman as Barcelona unveiled him as their new first team coach.**

As per the official [website](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/first-team/news/1755317/ronald-koeman-is-the-new-fc-barcelona-coach) of the Catalan giants, the Dutchman has reached an agreement with Barcelona that will see him take over as manager until 30 June 2022.

While the La Liga club may see Koeman as the ideal man to drive them forward, it is perhaps safe to say that several members of the Goodison Park faithful were quite frankly shocked at his appointment based off of some of their reactions on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LivEchoEFC/status/1296027715443752960).

Koeman lasted only 58 games while in charge of the Toffees, winning just 24 of those matches, drawing 14 and losing the other 20 (via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ronald-koeman/leistungsdatenDetail/trainer/439/plus/0?saison_id=&verein_id=29&liga=&wettbewerb_id=&trainer_id=)), giving him a win ratio of around 41.4%.

In his one full season at the Merseyside club, he guided the Blues to [seventh](https://www.toffeeweb.com/season/16-17/premtable.php) place in the Premier League table, but was [sacked](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41683786) in October 2017 in just his second campaign after a rather embarrassing 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal which left them in the relegation zone.

These Everton supporters slammed their former boss, with one fan even labelling the news as ‘bizarre’:

> Bad attitude… he better buy better than he did at Everton or he won’t last until Christmas
