# Everton: Fans want to see Anthony Gordon feature in the first team

**Everton fans believe that youngster Anthony Gordon deserves his chance in the Toffees’ first-team after a string of solid performance for the U23s this season.**

The 18-year-old has featured just once for the senior side this season during their [4-2](https://www.skysports.com/football/lincoln-vs-everton/420145) win against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

After the victory in Lincolnshire, teammate Lucas Digne heaped praise on the attacking midfielder as Gordon went on to score a wondergoal against Mansfield Town in the EFL Trophy, which the young Blues eventually won on penalties after a [1-1](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/efl-trophy/mansfield-town-vs-everton-u21_game_96214.html) draw after normal time.

As his side sit sixth in the [Premier League 2](https://www.fotmob.com/leagues/9084/table), the first team have not had such a fun time during the current campaign. The Toffees sit in 11th place and have only picked up [seven wins](https://www.fotmob.com/leagues/47/table) from 21 games.

His performances for the second team at Goodison Park have caught the eyes of the coaching staff, with manager Carlo Ancelotti saying that he “sees a lot of quality in him”, as per the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/carlo-ancelotti-opens-up-anthony-17525691).

Supporters now want to see Gordon introduced to the fold more often, with one fan believing that his inclusion would be a dramatic improvement from Theo Walcott.
