Everton: Toffees set for £150m windfall from stadium naming rights deal

Everton: Toffees set for £150m windfall from stadium naming rights deal -Everton News

Everton are reportedly now set for a £150m windfall from a ten-year naming rights deal for their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Lowdown: £500m cost

Construction is underway for the Merseyside club’s new stadium, which is set to cost around £500m in total to complete.

It would mean leaving the beloved Goodison Park, which has been their home since 1892, in what is hopefully a huge step forward in bringing the club into the big hitters of the Premier League.

The Latest: £150m windfall

As per Football Insider, the Toffees will earn as much as £150m from a ten-year naming rights deal for their new stadium.

They have appointed USA-based agency Elevate Sports Ventures to conduct the search for possible sponsors for the ground, due to open ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Frank Lampard’s side are believed to be exploring a number of options to increase the value of a potential naming rights deal for the stadium, with increased in-stadium branding, a signage deal with Liverpool City Council and promotional tie-ins with the chosen sponsor all expected to be discussed.

The Verdict: Exciting

While supporters will have to wave goodbye to their beloved Goodison Park, the move to the fresh new stadium is an exciting one.

Of course, construction will leave the club in a lot of debt, but if they can get the £150m windfall from the naming rights deal, that will go a long way to cutting the cost and help the Blues build a sustainable financial future.

However, any name and potential sponsors associated with it should get the approval of the supporters first of all, as they look to make the new home their own.
