Everton: Mark Douglas reveals Mohammed Kudus update -Everton News

Reliable journalist Mark Douglas has revealed an update on Everton‘s proposed deal to sign Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The Lowdown: Deal agreed

As per The Times journalist Paul Joyce, a deal had been agreed for the Goodison Park outfit to sign Kudus on loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

He is predominantly a central midfielder, but can play in multiple positions across the pitch, including as a striker.

The Latest: Held up

Writing in his latest piece for iNews, Douglas has revealed that the deal for Kudus to move to Merseyside has been ‘held up’.

It is now unclear whether they will be able to get it over the line before the transfer window closes.

The Verdict: Worrying

It is certainly worrying to hear for the Toffees supporters of the delay in the Kudus deal, as it has now cast some doubt over whether it will actually end up going through.

Hailed as a ‘complete’ midfielder with ‘electric pace & acceleration’ among other key attributes by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, Kudus would elevate the quality in the Blues’ midfield, having played in the UEFA Champions League as well as a top European league in the Eredivisie (Transfermarkt).

Incidentally, the Ghana international was a player that Carlo Ancelotti wanted when he was EFC’s manager in 2020, and so he is clearly someone the club have tracked for a long time.

Kudus is of a good age to have a long career on Merseyside at 22, and so Everton should be working doubly hard to make sure this deal does not end up falling through.
