Everton are reportedly now ready to axe Allan once the summer transfer window opens.

The Lowdown: Poor season

It has no doubt been a poor season for Allan by his standards.

Before the game away at West Ham United in the Premier League earlier this afternoon, of which he missed out entirely through suspension, the Brazil international only ranked 14th in terms of the Goodison Park faithful's best performers in the top flight this campaign.

He has been criticised for looking lethargic at times, and at 31 years of age, he is certainly not getting any younger.

The Latest: Ready to sell

As per The Sun, the Merseyside club are now ready to let Allan leave in the summer, in what is expected to be a 'massive' squad shake-up under Frank Lampard.

However, any transfer plans will depend on whether they can avoid relegation down to the Championship.

The Verdict: Get rid

The Toffees could do with freshening things up in midfield, and that would leave room for Allan to make way.

He will only have one year left on his contract this summer, and with no signs of renewal at the moment, it is surely now time to cash in.

Currently rated at £16.2m, and earning a whopping £120,000-per-week at the Blues, Allan's sale would then raise funds to strengthen in the window, rather than risk losing him for free after another lacklustre campaign next term.
