Some Everton fans have been left reacting to some news on their proposed new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Writing in his latest piece for The Liverpool Echo, Phil Kirkbride has now revealed that the new ground could receive £45m in local government funding.

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority have proposed to offer a £15m grant and a £30m loan for works linked to plans for the stadium, and local leaders will now consider the proposals next Friday.

The £15m grant would be used towards meeting infrastructure costs and preserving heritage assets around the new site, while the £30m loan would go towards overall costs of the project.

There are certainly exciting times ahead for Merseyside club supporters, as they look forward to leaving Goodison Park to move into their brand new home.
