Everton are reportedly now interested in signing Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour this summer.

The Lowdown: Winks alternatives?

Taking to Twitter, Italian football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that talks between Tottenham Hotspur and the Goodison Park outfit over the signing of Harry Winks are 'going slow', as Spurs could try and include him in a potential deal for Richarlison.

It means that the Merseyside club may have to move on to other targets, with the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Georginio Wijnaldum recently being named as potential alternatives to the Lilywhites midfielder.

The Latest: Two more targets...

Writing in his latest piece for The Daily Telegraph, reliable journalist Matt Law has revealed that the Toffees are now interested in Chelsea duo Gallagher and Gilmour.

Again, they could be seen as potential alternatives to Winks, or additional arrivals if Frank Lampard really wants to shore up his midfield options for next season.

The Verdict: Get both in!

If the Blues can, they should be looking to get both Gallagher and Gilmour in, whether that would be on loan or on a permanent deal.

They are currently rated at £22.5m and £10.8m on Transfermarkt respectively, and funds could be raised by the potential sale of Richarlison, among other players.

Gallagher in particular impressed last season, scoring eight goals and supplying a further five assists in total across all competitions from midfield while on loan at Crystal Palace (Transfermarkt), while Gilmour also has a lot of promise at 21 years of age, having broken into the Scotland national team last year.

Nonetheless, should a deal for Winks not get over the line, the pair would be more than suitable alternatives.
