Journalist Simon Phillips has shared that Frank Lampard is 'pushing' to sign both Billy Gilmour and Michy Batshuayi for Everton.

The Lowdown: Incomings imminent...

It is expected that both Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye will sign for the Goodison Park outfit, while they also expect to land Conor Coady from Wolves.

Given the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, it is probable that they will now go in for a new striker, having already secured the signings of James Tarkowski, Ruben Vinagre and Dwight McNeil this summer.

The Latest: Two more?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Phillips has shared that Everton boss Lampard is 'pushing' to sign Gilmour and Batshuayi from his former club Chelsea.

The reporter stated: “Billy Gilmour is definitely one that I can see going, Lampard really likes him.

“Lampard had a really close relationship with him and Batshuayi when he was at Chelsea, so that’s why he’s pushing for both of those two the most at the moment.”

The Verdict: Exciting

These are exciting times for the Everton faithful. If the expected additions of Onana, Gueye and Coady go through in the coming days, Gilmour and Batshuayi could become their seventh and eighth signings of the transfer window respectively if the Toffees' pursuit of the Chelsea duo also proves successful.

Of course, they are players that Lampard knows well from his time at Stamford Bridge, so he will be confident that he can get the best out of them.

Lampard actually handed Gilmour his senior debut at just 18 years of age, showing how much faith he has in the Scottish youngster, while Batshuayi has a decent goal record at both club and international level and would fill a problem position for the Toffees in the wake of Calvert-Lewin's injury.

Signing both players would be a nice way to round off the transfer window for Everton.
