Transfer expert Dean Jones has backed Everton to 'go after' both Coventry City's Viktor Gyokeres and Blackburn Rovers' Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Lowdown: Everton interest

TalkSPORT reported last week that the Goodison Park outfit are joined by both Brentford and Wolves in their interest in signing Gyokeres, with Coventry valuing the striker at as much as £20m.

They have also been linked with a move for Brereton Diaz, who could be sold for around £10m due to his contract at Blackburn expiring in the summer.

The Latest: Could 'go after' both

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has claimed that it 'wouldn't surprise' him if the Merseyside club try to 'go after' both Gyokeres and Brereton Diaz in this window:

“It wouldn’t surprise me if they go after both Gyokeres and Brereton Diaz at the same time to just see what becomes possible. I’m not sure they could do a deal for both of those players, but at least to know that they could get one through the door so they have some potential for goals.”

The Verdict: Get one in!

Frank Lampard's team need to make sure that they sign at least one of Gyokeres and Brereton Diaz this month.

Having recalled Ellis Simms from his loan spell at Sunderland, it is clear that the Englishman would like to strengthen his attacking options, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin also having a worrying injury history.

Gyokeres and Brereton Diaz have excellent records in the Championship, scoring nine goals in the division respectively so far this season.

The Premier League is a big step up, but both strikers would surely relish the opportunity, and the Toffees could sign them for affordable prices.
