Darren Bent has claimed that Everton will massively miss Abdoulaye Doucoure for their next game in the Premier League versus Leicester City.
The central midfield player picked up his fifth booking in the 2020/21 top flight term in his last outing in the 2-1 win away at Wolves, which means that his suspension carries on into the next match in the PL, which for the Goodison Park faithful is the Foxes at home next Wednesday night.
Speaking to Football Insider, Bent has claimed that the Merseyside club will miss him massively against the team currently in the top four of the league and therefore looking to mount a serious title challenge:
“There isn’t anyone like him at Everton. He gets forward, he gets a lot of praise for his box-to-box work.
“He works hard, he’s quick, he’s powerful. They’re going to miss him massively.
“He’s a top, top player. I’ve always liked him since he was at Watford. When they brought him in I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s a proper signing.’”
Doucoure will be a massive loss for Everton
As Bent has claimed, Doucoure will be a massive loss for Carlo Ancelotti’s side and would have definitely improved their chances of beating Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying LCFC.
Can Doucoure be the new Gueye for Everton?
The France international has not yet missed a game for the Toffees in the PL, as they sit quite comfortably in sixth spot in the league on 32 points, just two off of their bitter rivals Liverpool before their clash with Burnley on Thursday night (Sky Sports).
He has clearly made a great impact on the side since his move from Watford in the summer transfer window, and the Blues will certainly miss the presence of the 28-year-old in the heart of midfield.
