Some Everton fans have been left fuming as the Goodison Park faithful have announced on their official website that they have secured their first commercial partner in Colombia with RushBet.
As per the website, the multi-year agreement will see the gaming brand become the Merseyside club’s ‘Official Betting Partner in Colombia’.
Will Everton win a trophy this season?
Players from Carlo Ancelotti’s team will now feature in TV advertising campaigns for the company, including Colombia internationals James Rodriguez and Yerry Mina, which will surely gain a lot of attention in the South American country.
However, the new partnership has left a very sour taste in some Toffees’ mouths, as they feel as if they do not want their side promoting any form of betting or gambling.
Nonetheless, it is another way for the Blues to expand their brand globally which will surely bring some more revenue into the club.
Everton fan reaction to new partnership
These EFC supporters fumed upon learning about the new partnership with RushBet on Twitter:
Oh great, more gambling partnerships.

So frustrating being an Everton fan and a recovering gambling addict, sorry, 'gaming'.
Whilst removing sportpesa as a shirt sponsor is well received, two partners in a few months is frustrating.

we shouldn’t even have a betting sponsor, thought that was the point of cancelling the partnership with sportpesa?

Very disappointed we’ve got another betting partner. Sends the wrong message.
